Archbishop's Palace, Sens: Detail, Renaissance sculpted portal
Architecture Library, Hesburgh Libraries
The Archbishop's Palace is in a courtyard south of the church, composed of several buildings. The cathedral treasure, displayed in what was the archbishops' private chapel, is one of the richest in France. The regional museum of Sens occupies this Renaissance building and the neighboring Palais Synodal (Gothic, 13th century, with a tile roof and windows restored by Viollet-le-Duc).
