Characteristic of the imposing Ottonian style of the late eleventh century to the later years of the twelfth century with its twin towers of the Rhineland type. Restored in 1876, it is currently renovated, painted with its original bright exterior colors. The church has a flat chevet, external crypt and transept with radiating apsidal chapels. The interior in French Baroque houses a masterpiece of Mosan art, the baptismal font of St. Barthelemy (font of Notre Dame, removed to St. Barthelemy in 1804). The font is attributed to Renier de Huy, and dated 1107-1118.
